Art Glass Sculptures by Roberta Mason

“My work is inspired by the formation of waves, language of bubbles and the amazing world of marine creatures.  My aim is to share my love of and fascination with the sea and hopefully with it, the desire to protect and respect our marine environments. ”

Roberta’s first exhibition was in 2010 and her latest works are on display at the Pyramid Gallery in York. She is constantly expanding her knowledge, as well as strengthening and perfecting her techniques with master classes and has recently graduated from the Royal College of Art in London.  An artist with unstoppable energy, Roberta was highly commended in 2015 by the Worshipful Company of Glass Sellers, in 2016, she won a scholarship to attend her Master Classes with Dr Gerry King and in 2019 is a finalist in the Visual Art Open UK & International Emerging Artist Awards.  She has work in private collections and has exhibited her work internationally.

Roberta’s relationship with glass and water could best be described as a passionate love affair. By understanding the properties of glass, its opacity, and transparency, Roberta creates works of art that contain depth and inner narratives. Taking her inspiration from Aristotle and his quote “The aim of art is to represent not the outward appearance of things, but their inward significance,” Roberta is an artist, who is constantly evolving, her latest interest is in 3D Design.

She quoted with Rachel Carson’s words “The more clearly we can focus our attention on the wonders and realities of the universe about us, the less taste we shall have for destruction.” to show her desire to protect and respect the marine environments.
